Brooks & Rapha gravel ride
El pasado martes 23 de enero tuve el honor de poder preparar una bonita ruta gravel para un grupo de auténticos gravel grinders y componentes de la prestigiosa compañía de sillines y accesorios Brooks, evento que fue organizado por el clubhouse Rapha Mallorca.
Nos vimos todos en Santa María como punto de encuentro y partida para la ruta de unos 80 kilómetros y unos 900 metros de desnivel positivo acumulado. Estuvo repleta de buena conversación, risas, intercambio de experiencias y opiniones sobre material. Hermosos y tranquilos caminos hacia Algaida con tramos más o menos complicados pero siempre buscando evitar el asfalto al máximo.
Paradita para un café al solecito en la plaza de Pina y para añadir un poco de desnivel ya hacia el final de la ruta subimos hasta el Verger de Alaró, pudiendo disfrutar de unas magníficas vistas de la isla.
Los chicos de Brooks trajeron una caja llena de sillines del modelo Cambium C13 en las tres medidas de ancho disponible y también la versión "Carved" con apertura perineal para todo el que quisiera probar uno de los legendarios asientos tuviese la oportunidad. Todo un detallazo!
A título personal comentar que yo probé el Brooks Cambium C13 http://www.brooksengland.com/en_eu/saddles/c13-145-1.html y quedé fascinado con la comodidad de este. Al terminar la ruta, Bregan (máximo responsable de Brooks) me preguntó que me había parecido el sillín. Mi respuesta fue simple y sincera, en toda la ruta no he pensado ni un segundo en mi trasero ni en el sillín, lo que significa que resultó muy cómodo, de lo contrario me habría acordado de el a cada instante. Me respondió que eso mismo es lo que les dice la inmensa mayoría de la gente que usa o prueba sus sillines.
Para finalizar y como tras tantos kilómetros y cierto esfuerzo había algo de gusa, disfrutamos de un típico "pa amb oli". Espero que pronto repitamos la experiencia, fue un gustazo!

It was full of good conversation, laughter, exchange of experiences and opinions on material. Beautiful and quiet roads to Algaida with more or less complicated sections but always looking to avoid the asphalt to the maximum. Stop for a coffee at the little square in the Plaza de Pina and to add a bit of altitude and towards the end of the route we went up to the Verger de Alaró, being able to enjoy magnificent views of the island. Brooks boys brought a box full of saddles of the model Cambium C13 in the three available width measurements and also the version "Carved" with perineal opening for anyone who wanted to try one of the legendary seats had the opportunity. All a detail! On a personal note, I commented that I tried the Brooks Cambium C13 http://www.brooksengland.com/en_eu/saddles/c13-145-1.html and was fascinated by the comfort of this. At the end of the route, Bregan (head of Brooks) asked me what I thought was the saddle. My answer was simple and sincere, in all the route I have not thought for a second in my ass or in the saddle, which means that it was very comfortable, otherwise I would have remembered him at every moment. He answered that that is what the vast majority of people who use or try their saddles tell them. To finish and as after so many kilometers and some effort there was something of gusa, we enjoyed a typical "pa amb oli". I hope that we will repeat the experience soon, it was a pleasure!
